Born in 1953, Julie is the daughter of artist and poet Joe Loudon (picture by Joe) and teacher Bon Loudon, and the mother of artist John Conway. She studied at the Canberra School of Art.

Part fairy tale, part fever dream, Julie’s paintings tread the line between the familiar and the surreal, domestic and epic. Some scenes look innocent enough. Others are less easy to explain.
